This book is about a journey two children took to Johannesburg to fetch their mother, because their baby sister was sick. On their adventure they met many kind people, who helped them. They learnt about life in the city compared to their life in the village. It made them think about their future and how they could help their own people when they are older. I enjoyed the book, there was adventure, love, death and courage. It made me think that no matter the colour of ones skin, we are all human, and all have needs and feelings. This book has made me realise that their are people who need help to meet their basic needs, and I would like to help in some way.
The negatives was the book wasn't long enough and it did not emotionally grip me.
I give this book a 3 1/2 out of 5
